“Success in life is a combination of talent and persistence and focus”.
While enjoying an international career he has always maintained strong ties with his Australian roots. He returned to Queensland’s Performing Arts Centre in 2015 to conduct a season of The Pirates of Penzance in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the theatre’s opening. In 2016, he was appointed musical director for the Queensland regional premiere season of Wicked, guiding a talented ensemble of professional musicians and young Australian cast to resounding success and critical acclaim. In 2017, he returned to Australia to be music director for the regional production of Les Miserables.
“I’ve always had this philosophy, immerse yourself with good people who are better than yourself. Be humble, be intelligent and listen and good people will always share their expertise with you, if you’re willing to listen and learn.”
A growing passion for combining music and delivering magnificent events saw Robert expand his career into the realm of entertainment production and creative event design. Robert is not only a producer but also the creator of exceptional theatrical experiences.
Up to the age of 25 Robert’s focus remained firmly on developing his talent as a professional musician and conductor. As he evolved from musical leader to international producer, he expanded his personal expertise, building a company of outstanding creative people who designed and delivered events for a wide range of international clients. Robert and his team have designed and delivered conferences and special events throughout the Asia Pacific region for over 15 years.
Within his career he has designed events and productions for all of Queensland’s major theme parks, international hotels and resorts, leading corporations, and government agencies. He has orchestrated hundreds of major entertainment events, including the 2000 Olympic Soccer Gala Opening Ceremony and the iconic Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols in Brisbane, which were televised statewide for 14 years.
“Money is not the purpose of business, at the end of the day it’s a collaboration between people, it’s about exchanging value, doing a great job and being compensated fairly for doing an awesome job.”
Robert continues to produce and deliver outstanding and memorable occasions for corporate and private clients, transforming every event he crafts into an array of theatrical surprises and heartfelt meaningful experiences, engaging and connecting his audiences with the power of live music and live performance.
